How to configure your calendar with several apps and devices

Thunderbird/Lightning

First you need the URL’s of your calendar, it should be the following, everyone has a default calendar, which URL is the following:

https://caldav.soverin.net/calendars/account@soverin.net/default/

In case you have other calendars, replace default with the name of the calendar.

iPhone and iPad

If you’re not using a major online service provider, you can still set up and use any standards-based email, calendar, and/or contacts service you like, including your own!

  1. Launch the Settings app from your Home screen.
  2. Tap Mail , Contacts , or Calendar.
  3. Tap Accounts.
  4. Tap Add Account.

  1. Tap Other.
  2. Select the account you wish to configure.
  3. Enter in your service information. If you don’t know it off-hand, you’ll need to get it from a system administrator or whomever runs your IMAP/PPO, CalDAV, and/or CardDAV account.
  4. Tap the Next button in the upper right hand corner, and your device will verify the account.
  5. If everything looks right, tap on Done. Your account will now start syncing with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Android

Android doesn’t have it’s own program to set up CalDAV or CardDAV, but works with apps from the Google Play store.

We recommend DAVx5 (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.bitfire.davdroid)

Once the app is installed, the following guide can be taken to set up the CalDAV and CardDAV:

  • Open the DAVdroid app and tap “ add account”

  • Select the option “Login with URL and user name”

  • Use the following Base URL: https://caldav.soverin.net/calendars
  • At User name fill in your full e-mail address
  • Fill in your password

Next tap “LOGIN”, you should see the following screen:

In the next screen you can select the address book and calendar(s) you want to use on your Android device.

You should end up with a screen looking like this:

macOS

How to set up CalDAV, or CardDAV on OSX

CalDAV Manual configuration

  1. Run the Apple iCal/Calendar application.
  2. In the menu, select iCal/Calendar> Preferences and go to the Accounts tab.
  3. Click the + button to create a new account.

  4. Select Add CalDAV Account and click Continue.

  5. Select Manual , and type your credentials and the location of your Soverin calendar [you credentials can be found here.

  6. Click Create.

CardDAV Manual configuration

Please backup your Address Book before syncing your account.

  1. To begin, open Mac Address Book and go to Contacts > Preferences.
  2. Under the Accounts tab, press the ‘+’ sign to add a new account.

  3. Select Add CalDAV Account and click Continue.

  4. Select Manual , and type your credentials and the location of your Soverin calendar [you credentials can be found here.

  5. Click Create.
